Fordged or not? 347

I plan on building and 347 this winter while I cant drive the car. I want to run N/A for awhile I was hoping around 415 flywheel HP I think thats possible isnt it?

Well my question is should I spring the extra 1000 dollars for fordged and h beam rods over the 800 dollar non fordged kit? Im not gonna be running 750 hp what the fordged kit is rated too so I think I could get by

that goal is very possible, i would just do a nice forged bottom end, because you never know what you want to do in the future and its always nice to have the bottom end to support it, so i say pay the extra amount and know you have something that can last, not saying that anything else isnt good.

It should not cost an extra grnd to go forged. look at another vendor. if you are going to stay na, stay cast/ hyper to save reciprocating weight and it will spin higher and produce more hp if the combo is built around it.

For you power goals you don't need forged anything, especially if you are using a stock block. I've built several 500+ horsepower 347s with cast cranks and I beam rods. I have a 740 horsepower Windsor engine in my shop right now that has I beam rods in it. The best rods on the market are I beam rods. What style of rod do you think is in Nascar, Pro Stock and Top Fuel engines? Not H-beam.
