Hood scoops for fox Stangs?

Hey guys i was looking to get a cowl hood but i have to cut back on some money for a new prob. with my car. But my question is can i buy a cowl scoop designed to fit a fox mustang perfectly and not look like crap? Or has anyone done this before that could help me out? Like i said i would like to get a new hood but a good on is like $500. My hood now had a dent in the middle so i was just thinking of doing this for now, until money comes. Something like this link below?

eBay Motors: Cowl Induction Hood Scoop 5" tall fiberglass (item 250267452929 end time Jul-13-08 12:32:36 PDT)

If ya guys can help me or know or any sites or anything that would be great, thanks guys! -The Novice.

The Novice,
Hmmmmm. I had a fiberglass scoop like that on my old Nova, only mine was only 3 1/2". Problem was it was not fiberglassed on to the metal hood very well and eventually at triple digit speed it came loose, never to be attached to the car again.

Basically, remember your going to have to pay to have the scoop molded to the hood. My opinion is that tall of a scoop is not going to go well with our body lines.
Best of Luck.

That was just an example, i dont want anything higher than 3inch, i was thinkin 2.5 or so.

Yeah i was thinking about that, i was thinking about cutting the hole in the hood and then attaching it from the bottom and glue or id neede screw, prob need a little bondo or something to but i dunno just an idea....

But do they make any for stangs or anything? i just dont wanna buy one and have it be too long or somethin heh. What do you guys think though?

ive been thinking about the same thing, and yea my ideas were the same as yours, cut a hood in the top of the hood use some ummmmm i cant remember what its called but its like an adhesive but its mostly to help keep the plastic or fiberglass from warping and help with the weather proofing. then rivit it in, put some fiber glass resign over as bondo to "mold" it in. then use fiberglass to smooth it out. and with the hole cut in the stock hook it would be functional

Put a 79 pace car/ 82 GT hood scoop on it and let'er eat. looks good and with a couple holes underneath the scoop is very functional. I'll try and get a couple pics posted of how it looked on mine before I got my cowl

my cowl was home made with some 18 gauge steel and hastily bondoed. i need to redo the bondo job. but i plug welded the cowl on, cut a hole under the cowl to fit the air cleaner, and gave it a quick bondo job.

there she is

yeah i was dumb and wanted to finish the hood too fast. im going to sand it down, smooth it up and try to make it look half decent. thats only untill i can afford a fiberglass hood, that hood i made probably weighs more than it should haha
