where should i go from here with the mods im aiming for 300hp within the next couple months. as of now i have 4:10s full exhaust, cai. i know everyone is going to say h/c/i if so what should i start off with intake? or how bout small stuff like bigger tb and underdrive pulleys for now? i know those wont give me the 300 but will i tell a difference with the small stuff.

i would stay away from under drive pulleys.
i hear a lot of people say its not worth it and they have charging problems afterwards. the best way to find parts for cheap is to check craigslist every day, you can find all sorts of goodies on there. |

it doesnt matter what peice you start with in a h/c/i combo as long as you have researched and find parts that work well with each other... are you wanting 300 off the motor or wheels?

300 hp will require the "H/C/I", even a cheap gt40(p) set-up will fall short of 300hp. Its gonna take a little more money. What are your ET goals, that may be easier than shooting for a HP number.

choosing an ET goal first is best if he is gonna have a car that will see a good bit of track time... plus suspension work will be a must... but it all depends on what is wanted...

yea my goal is to atleast hit mid to low 13s within the next 2 months. its a daily driver so not too much track time. but i just want to be able to hang with and beat the newer 4.6. my budget for the next week or 2 is around 800.

You dont need 300 hp to run 13s in a fox 5.0 . i'd toss the front sway bar, add a short belt , get some underdrives, bump the timing and practice you're driving technique and 13s should be in the bag , btw the cobras are prolly gonna hurt you more then help you . a lightweight set of rims will make a huge difference in lowering your et. i had an 87 coupe that had a stock motor and t 5 373s and exhaust and the best i could go was a 14.20 on chrome ponies with nothing more then a switch to welds and dragradials the car was instantly a mid 13 sec car with only about a 1 /10 reduction in 60 ft

I must say I do agree under drive pulleys are pretty much a waste on a fox, H,I,C combo is great and there are many many options out there but not for $800 unless you find some used parts.
As far as order you really don't do heads before the intake???not to much sense there, if you have the know how swap out the cam or do a set of roller rockers and a "good" intake and T.B. leave the stock heads for now and a good set of DR or slicks and you should be right there with some practice at the strip and hope the "C" clips hold up...
