best thing to do in my opinion is by one of the drop in kits by summit or your choice of supplier. there are plenty of options online.here is the same brand you will get from summit for $30 cheaper and you do know youll need other parts other than just the mounts to make it fit correctly right?

yes you will need the oil pan and the mounts. and some people have to either buy the right headers or modify theirs to make them fit. but i have also heard of some people who get away with using their stock headers.

and you can keep modding the motor and keep the wheels on the ground. there are plenty of big power verts. just invest in a good roll bar. and some frame reinforcing and youll be good!

keep the c4. the c6 is not a good tranny even for a more than mild motor car. they belong in huge horsepower cars and trucks that haul a lot.

a 351/c4 combo isnt going to get great gas mileage to begin with. if your concerned about gas, do a t-5 (manual) or aod (3 speed auto w/ overdrive) transmission swap. the c4 would be a good transmission and is stronger than the aod, but less fuel effiecient. right now i have a 351 in my 83 mustang and behind that is an aod. i doubt it will last and when the time comes, a c4 will be taking its place.

right now you have the 7.5 rear, unless its already been swapped to an 8.8. the 8.8 is a far stronger rearend and i would concider also finding one out of an 86-93 fox just to be sure something dont blow up when youre showing off.

What are somethings i could do to the motor without tearin it apart, like a carb. what would be the best carb. to put on this(brand)? what ignition system would work best? or what other goodies would be good. (i don't know much about fords motors sorry chevy guy till now) I like turbos and superchargers but you got to have money for them.

you could always do h/c/i while the motors out of the car. it would be easier doing that while the motors out of the car compared to it being in. you dont really need a huge carb for youre motor if its fairly stock.

barry grant, quickfuel, edelbrock and holley are my favorite carburator manufacturers.

i suggest doing atleast an intake and cam before you bother with the carb though.

if you want a fairly built yet still mild street car, dont worry about forced induction. you can make plenty of power with bolt ons on the 351. most people say h/c/i. i agree. but if youre worried about spending money on gas then all these may not be in your budget. if you shop around and find good deals you will still be forking out a pretty penny.

a good carb is an easy place to start. holleys are usually the hardest to tune, but once you get it down its the best for accuracy in my opinion.

exhaust will be worth it too

I agree that you should make the 8.8 swap if you already haven't. maybe 373s for better gas mileage, not too heavy of a load on the motor and trans yet still enough fun.

as for transmission, yours is not going to help you economically. the t5 is a simple swap but they are easy to blow under the load of a mildly built 302. but some hold up forever. Hell I have a 4 cyl behind my 600hp turbo 86 lx until i get my tko in and it is doing just fine as long as i dont launch it or shift too hard into 3rd. another fun an fairly economical trans swap is the t56. takes a little more modification but the 6spd is pretty fun in these cars. and these can be pulled at junk yards if youre lucky out of newer chevys. but that can cost some money getting the bell housing and crossmember. the aod isn't too economicalbut better than the c4 and c6. had one in my stock 91 gt and only got 18 mpg on a good day driving normal.

as for ignition, everyone usually goes msd but unless you plan on further modifying your car a hot ignition wont be really necessary. get a better distributor than stock and some good plugs and wires and youll be fine.

make sure your fuel delivery is up to par.

the aod will do a little bit better in economy.

my cousins old rx7 with a built 302/c4 combo only got 8 mpg with a good tailwind. but c4s will get better than 8, he just smoked the tires everytime he stopped.

i would just keep the c4 in the car untill you have enough money to step up to a better transmission. and not a c6, too much of a power robber on a mild car at best

when i swap the motors, the C4 tranny is already in the car behind the V6 so when t 351 goes on do i need to swap the flywheel and torque convert from the C6(on the 351) to C4

im not sure about those old 6ers but i would assume you would have to at least get a bell housing

keep the c4 torque converter with the c4 and the c6 converter with the c6. you can pull the motor out without taking the torque converter out as well. just unbolt the torque converter (you have to get underneath the car and rotate the motor to get all 4 nuts off that attach the torque converter to the flywheel, then push the converter back into the bell housing) and use the flywheel that came on the 351. i believe all the bellhousings have the same 6 bolt pattern that attach the motor to the transmission so you should be alright there.

if i didnt answer your questions let me know haha

do a little bit more research about the swap

ive never put a v8 into a car that has had a 4 or 6 cylinder in it, so im not sure if your kmember would work. there are people in here that will tell you exactly what you need to do this swap. if the ever chime in
