Just got my rebuild done and have some problems

Well I just got my rebuild done, if you didn't see my original thread, It's a fresh 302, world windsor jr heads, harland sharp 1.6 rr'rs, b cam, I did a new msd coil, new 8.5 msd wires, new msd cap and rotor. Anyway's the car sounds amazing starts right up good fuel pressure, no lightning show off the wires. But my two problems are When just cruising the car it stumbles and back fires at any where between 1/8 to 1/4 throttle but any where above there the car runs fine. My timing is at 14*, I've tried to different tps and symtomps are the same. I just bought a 255 pump and a regulator from sean and I'm hoping this helps. My other problem is the car just isn't that much faster than my stock 180,000 mile motor with stock everything. It's like something is holding me back, Do you guys think it's fuel, or my stock intake manifold and throttle body? Or am I just over reacting? If I had to guess I'd say I gained 2 or 3 tenths from the old motor. What do you guys think. Thanks in advance guys.

well two or 3 tenths is about 30 hp. are you sure you have the right fireing order? my car kinda stumbles when i am crusing too its like hanging on the edge of accelerating or just letting the throttle off in gear it so it will sound like its missing. if u give it just a little gas will it stop doing it?

Are the rockers adjusted properly? Are there any vacuum leaks?

As far as performance goes, that stock intake as well as the b cam are leaving alot of power under the table.

Yeah i printed the proper way to adjust the rockers off this site and followed it to a t. I even re adjusted them after 300 miles and re tourqed the heads. Ive checked and double checked for vaccum leaks. The only reason I went with the b cam is it was a hand me down from my friend as I'm saving for a 347 shortblock to put my tfs 205cc heads on and I'll go custom cam then. So yeah the car noticably hesitates and pops under light throttle like taking off slow from a light but once the rpm raise or i increase to like half throttle or above it runs perfect. I've tried two different tps but they were both old used ones so maybe there both bad? Also should I replace the cam or the intake first?

Sounds like your timing is off. Take your sparkplugs out, see if there the right burning color(light brown) if there black then you know something for sure is going wrong. After checking all spark plugs, trace all wires and make sure they are one the right plug. Check the distributor also. then check TOP DEAD CENTER to make sure your rotor is facing the number 1 spark plug wire on the cap. Did you remove the distributor out of the block completly??? If all is correct so far set your harmonic balancer to 10degress, which is base timing. Then start tuning until your car runs amazing. As for your other question, Purchase The Upper/Lower Intake First before the cam. Intake is a huge deal
hope this helped

I've double and triple checked timing, and all the plug wires are correct, the spark plugs are a brownish color. I did remove the dizzy but I re installed it at tdc facing number 1 etc. I'll try and set it at ten and see if that helps I guess. Its just weird that it's at partial throttle but runs perfect at 50% or more throttle

I think so. I put the new gear for the timing chain on it and lined up the two gears perferctly. I made sure it was all the way seated and spun freely then lined em up and put the locking plate thing on it
