custom turbo vs turbo kit?

ok im going to do a few lil bolt ons and lots of tricks to my 89 5 OH! but i want to turbo the stock setup and run like 5 to 8 psi ive heard great things about this approach my thing is id rather not spend $5000 on a whole kit right now, id rather go out and my 255lph fuel pump and bigger injectorsm intercooler , BOV etc etc all the little things and make a custom setup (hopefully ill save lots of money) i was thinking cutting the long tube headers and custom fab a y pipe that connects to the turbo and do 3inch piping for exhuast and intercooler and set up everything run a megasquirt 2 standalone fuel management and go get it tuned... what u thing? make like 450Hp

BBK shorty headers flipped forward
cross over in front of sway-bar
downpipe over pasng header and then down in back,

You can do it with a small welder and metal cut-off saw for
about $1,800 in parts using good parts.
Just tack it all togther and pay someone $100-200 to weld it up good.

One side of my DIY TT set-up using BBK headers.
They work nice for turbo headers for $150

ok but how are both headers connected to the turbo? i want to custom fab both headers together into like a y pipe then the turbo so all of the exhuast flows right into the turbo, itll spool so fast!

get rid of the sway bar, it will make room for you and its supposed to help with wieght transfers when launching and it doesnt effect your ride much as long as you got a decent suspension for drving around town
