dissapointed in cherrybombs
picked up some cherry bomb turbo mufflers to replace these quiet ones i had. i picked up some cherrybomb turbos from pep boys for 20$ a piece thinking that they would be loud and aggresive, since they are cherry bombs and supposed to only be one step up from glass packs. but they were very dissapointing.
im runing mac long tubes off road H then into the cherry bombs and nothing after the muffler. does any one know of an exhaust tip that would make the sound luder and maybe more aggressive? |

Glasspacks can sound good, it's all personal preference. I personally like Cherrybombs, but I'm not sure about the turbo set...

turbo mufflers are basically all quiet and sound like junk, you get what you pay for just go buy some mac pro dumps or some kind of good muffler. exhaust tips usually dont make anything louder or more aggressive either

My son and I were looking at some CherryBomb turbo mufflers at Pep Boys for our 5.8 Bronco recently. Dude told us it would not be much louder than stock and don't waste the $20. I haven't used a "turbo" muffler since the 80's and have no other experience or information about them so we took his word for it. I guess he was right. I assume they should at LEAST flow a lot better then stock. Looking at the design, they look unrestrictive and simple. We considered a glasspack as well but left with nothing.
One thing is for sure with glasspacks, for what ever reasons, people either love them or hate them. Not too many people undecided.

One thing I did notice when I did not have the turn downs and running just mufflers. The smell of raw fuel. The gas tank and fuel was heating up pretty good. When I filled up or removed the gas cap after driving, a huge swishing noise could be heard as I removed the cap and hot fumes would rush out for quite some time. Maybe I had other issues but that started when I took off the tail pipes and quit when I put on the turn downs. EDIT: You can make a decent set of turn downs using a curved piece of your old tail pipes and a saw.

A quiet exhaust isn't really a bad thing.

dont get glasspacks just because you want your car to be loud right this instant... i can guarantee you it might sound good till they break in then it will sound like a yamaha v-max with drag pipes just save the extra money and buy some good muffs you will be so much happier
