Typically the upper mounts are not in bad shape. The lowers get beat to shit because they take the majority of the force. Finding a Mustang with good torque boxes is alot harder than finding one with beat torque boxes. All of these cars were abused, just like any of us abuse them. Ford built the cars for performance, not to be left in the garage and driven on sundays. Expect to find problems. Torque box damage is an easy fix. Another thing you might find is a tear in the floor pan behind the driver or passenger front seat (sometimes on both sides). Not a big deal but it is something you can surely beat up on the guys price with.

I have another question. Are the 88's a MAF set up or a speed density? I don't know what year they changed.

well that wasn't what I was wanted to hear. What is involved in switching from speed density to MAF and about how much will it cost? From what I've read speed density doesn't like mods very much.

You can mod a speed density. But it comes to a real aggresive cam you might have vacume problems but there are people that cane tune your ecu for you
