Filled the Radiator and not the overflow.

I filled the radiator and not the overflow. Still losing coolant at the same rate. Will swapping the Thermostat do me any good?

I have to agree sounds like a blown headgasket to me... although it is possible that it may be a bad cap which would cause all the pressure to bleed off into the overflow tank essentially steaming the coolant away. Simple fix check that first. Good Luck!

Reply.

I replaced the cap with a new one.

After the thermostat I will do a compression test, if that isn't it i will check the water pump.

Thanks,
Matt

If the pump shaft seal or housing were leaking, I'd think you could find evidence of that.
