Time to build/buy a new long block...help!

Yep! 3 of 8 pistons are leaking and have lost compression. So I need your help. I wanna either build or but a long block. It can be a 302 all the way up to 331. Forged internals would be nice along with aluminum heads and a mild cam. All that for $5000.00...anyone? I was thinking a new FRPP longbolck that offers an E303 or X303 cam, GT40X heads, forged internals, 340hp for $4300. Whadaya think?

BTW, I have a 1992 LX 5.0, 5 speed and I can't do the work cause my left arm is paralyzed. This car will be going down the strip and around the cones. Suspension and brakes are already done. Just need engine.

Thanks,

Pete

FordStrokers.com 331-347-393-408-418-427 stroker kits and ford parts. - 347 forged short block for $1,900
Camshaft Innovations - Home - matching Canfield head and custom cam - $2,000

$3,900 for a 347 long block with unbeatable customer service
and will make a SHIT load more power than pos Ford Racing crate engine.

Fordstrokers can put the CSI cam and head on for you too.

I have same motor sitting in my garage, specd out with same heads
and 6,500 rpm cam and 10.8 compression. Should make more like 500hp (flywheel)

Recently saw Fordstroker send customer brand new engine before he returned broke engine, after his crapped out in 500miles
Try getting Ford Racing or DSS to do that.

I have a FRPP crate/long block like you described. It was in the car when I bought it. Nice reliable engine and everything will be brand new and put together almost ready to drop in (minus a few things) but the cost is too high in my opinion to justify buying one.

that and you can get a MUCH better engine for cheaper

Ford recently outsourced the building of their crate engines to the
"lowest bidder" and quality has dropped.
