over heating


hi i have a 1985 mustang with a 3.8 liter v6 and well it's not really over heating but it is getting a lot warmer on me on the high way and i cant figure out why i've just about tryed everything i've put 2 fans on it from an eclipse and a 180 degree therostat and anyone have any ideas?

that could be it bc some of my other gadges r bad or off a little i hope thats it bc i'm going on a trip soon i guess i could just stop ever so often and just let it cool down

get some mechanical gauges. i have mechanical water temp and oil in my car. the factory gauges suck and are far from accurate

Only running hot at highway speed and not while idle or slow moving is normally the fault of the radiator or a head gasket. You should have more than enough natural air flowing through there to keep it cool while cruising.

i'm sure it's not the head gasket bc i'm not useing any fluid last night i drained the radiator and put just water back in it and it seemed to help a little
