Stripped Out Interior?

Thinking of stripping out my interior.. Have any of you guys done it? Have you any photos?

How much weight did you lose in the process?

What are the other best ways of stripping weight from a fox?

I have already got rid of the A/C (not much need for it over here!)
I know that Ally heads save a fair bit - they are on the shopping list

Anything else that is relatively easy to lose that is worthwhile?

Sorry for all the questions - I have so much I need to know!

Many thanks

I think i am gonna strip from the front seats back. Would it be stupid to keep the carpet in the front part of the car?

Awesome, I love the feeling of sitting in a stripped and caged machine.

I used to own a highly tuned sierra cosworth. That was stripped and caged...
Used to get the local boy racers pulling up next to me at the traffic lights wanting to race giving it loads of revs and stuff. Then they'd slowly start to notice things like the cage, massive brake discs, erratic lumpy idle etc and then look down and drive away slowly pretending that they weren't interested..hehe love it.

Focus RS is ok front wheel drive puts me off a bit - I think they have volvo engines...

I kept mine like that because I wanted it to look somewhat like a street car

I did remove all the sound deadener from under the carpet though. It makes for a very noisy interior if you have loud exhaust.

Carpet makes it look good. Even NMRA cars still have carpet. It just makes it look that much more proffesional. If you take the back seat out I'd carpet that area too just to make it look nicer.

I did all the standard items mentioned above as well and was surprised at the difference. Since my car is carb'd and I also removed the factory instrument cluster, I also removed the factory wiring harness and stripped out every unneccesary wire except for the ones needed for lights and wipers. I then added the wiring I needed for all the other stuff(charging system, guages, ignition, n2o, trans brake, etc...) When all was said and done, I had 30lbs of wiring left over that would fill a metal trash can. Next upgrade is to convert to a fiberglass dash to save another 25lbs or so.

I replaced the front seats with plastic racing seats from Summit. The old seats weighed about 40lbs each and each racing seat with the aluminum brackets only weigh 12lbs each.
