I actually retro-fitted a 90-93 (speedo only) into my 89 cluster, the speedo cable connection is the same.

Does anyone know if the wiring is different between the 87-89 and the 90-93 clusters? I am going to need to put an 87 wiring harness in my 92 and am wondering if I can use the 92 gauge cluster still. If not, it looks like my only option is to swap steering columns, steering wheel and any of the dash that is affected.

Thanks

Yes the wiring is different TRUST ME, I have an 89 and I bought a 92 cluster and pluged it in the strangest thing I have ever seen happened, When the car is completely off and the keys out I pressed the highbeams and it started the car. Besides the cluster from a 90-93 won't fit in an 87-89 becasue in 90 airbags were standerd thus they made the cluster longer and rounder in order to fit around the streering wheel.
