what is the best and fastest way to replace a heater core.

Not for your year mustang. I have 83 dash in my 84 and it is a piece of cake. I just need to remove the glove compartment.

In your case ..... read this carefully to see if is for your year mustang.

It's only easy if you don't have A/C It's an 8hr. job(book time) for a dealership to doi it.
It's not a fun job. The heater core is only about $25 but the labor costs is what kills you. The entire dash and console MUST be removed pretty much. If you never did onebefore it will easily take you an entire weekend....easily!
I would rather pay the $500 for a shop to do it.

I can do them in 2-3 hours. Just DON'T follow the book. Only remove what you need to. The manuals alway tell you to remove more than needed. Dash says in and just gets pulled back a foot or so.
