need help

I put my 30lb injectors and C & L mass air flow that is calibrated for the injectors. Adjusted my timing to 18deg drove the car last night and when I cut it off it wouldn't restart so tonight I set my timing around 16deg drove it again shut it off same thing does not want to start. When I try to restart it it smells real rich. I check the plugs to make sure they were not fouled out and they look fine. Is my timing still to high? My motor has been stroked to a 347 if that matters.

Yes. Before I put the 30lbs in i asked around to see if I would have to have a chip burnt. I was told that wouldn't be neccesary that the 76mm maf would compensate. But this did not happen with the stock injectors (19lb) and factory maf meter

Did you install your maf or did somebody else?

The 88 mustang would have speed density, except the california models came with maf and ecu ready for mods.

Does it turn over hard or does it turn over normal and just not fire?

The stock computer will work fine with a 347. Been there, done that several times.

turns over easy. I don't beleive it is the timing any more. Today I set the timing back to 14 and after the car ran for about 5 min I shut it off and try to restart it. It started once then i shut it off imeddiately and try to restart it and it wouldn't start. It did this when I had the 30lbs in when I first installed my motor with the factory maf and it would just foul my plugs now with the 76mm maf calibrated for the 30lbs it's doing the same thing. Are these injectors to much should I stay with 19lbs or try 24lbs?

The injectors are not too big. I ran 30lb injectors in many of my 302s with no issues. Are you sure the mass air meter has the correct sample tube in it for 30lb injectors? Do you know anybody that has 30lb injectors and a different brand mass air meter that you could try? C&L makes some shitty mass air meters and trying someone elses could eliminate the meter as the problem or pinpoint it as the problem. One more thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator. After you run the car for a while shut it off and pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator. Is there fuel coming out of the regulator or in the vacuum line? If the inside of the vacuum line is moist at all and has any odor of gas then the regulator is bad.
