See what the timing is set on, also it could just be the factory tach, may want to buy a aftermarket tach that may help a whole lot.

Sounds like a major vacuum line was disconnected and not hooked back up.

Check All Your Vacum Lines Make Sure You Did Not Disconnect The Master Also When Swapping Out Old Parts For New Understand That Once You Start You Have To Know What Other Parts For That Area Of The Engine You Are Changing Might Also Need To Be Changed ALSO LIKE THE PREVIOUS POST YOU MIGHT NEED A NEW TACK METTER AS WELL COULD BE BAD AFTER ALL ITS A MAGNET ON A STICK !!***most Of The Time Its A Vacum Line Thats Not Hooked Up Correctly***

its idling higher, and eratic (bouncing around).......not lower.

spray brake cleaner around the intake where it bolts to the heads, where the upper bolts to the lower, TB, intake hose, all vaccuum lines and anywhere else intake pressure could leak from. if the engine bogs while yer sprayin it, stop and spray back in that spot. easy way to find a vac leak.....

just keep in mind that if the fumes reach the leak it can mislead you to where the leak is from.... and I thought if you sprayed carb cleaner on a vacum leak it would rev up and if u use water it stumbled...i coud be mistaken though

brake cleaner stumbles because its not as combustible, carb cleaner on the other hand would make it rev up because it is meant to go directly in/on somethin that fuel is mixed with so it has to burn.

Carb cleaner, brake cleaner and WD40 will all cause the idle to rise if you spray them on a vacuum leak.

brake cleaner always choked my motor. maybe it cause it was the cheap kind that sprays half the can with a 3 second squirt and comes out like a water hose
