"new" 1990 lx

Ok so this is my first Stang and I want to build it up, at first I thought it was pretty stock but Im beginning to think it has some mods. The only problem is trying to figure out what has been done. I've never had a car worth building up before so I have only noticed things like Bosh platnium wires and a buzzing sound from the back that Im told is likely a high performance fuel pump, also someone mentioned that from the view behind me on the highway it sits like its been to the track...SO is there anyone in the N.Houston area that may like to swing by on a Sunday and take a peek, have some lunch whatever? It may be best to PM me or drop me an email as Im not sure I'll find replies to the post again lol. Thx

A loud fuel pump could be a failing fuel pump too. I'm curious what look from the rear makes the car look like it has been to the track.....that is puzzling to me.

Me too

I should have mentioned Im new to the area and dont know my way around very well, but if its a simple drive Id be happy to meet somewhere, I work nights so I cant get to the local meets as much as I'd love to.
So far Ive had to shell out the clams for oil pan gasket (700.00 ish) then I got nails in two of my tires from the jobsite so 4 tires (you all know what those cost) then the same day my tensioner pulley went at about 80mph on the hwy....so Im a little trigger shy as Im about strapped for the month and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont let me need a fuel pump (or oil or water for that matter)

Killing Me

What does a repair like that cost? Any symptoms other than the sound that it may be going? How long did it make the sound before it went? I have only had the car a few weeks and it always made the sound...

Your friend has a great set of eyes if he can see that a car has been to the track by looking at the back of the car unless of course the numbers are still shoe polished on the windows....lol....could you please ask him to tell you how he came to that conclusion and let us know...I am sure there are some others beside me that would love to know how to look for this ourselves

You could get a new walbro 255 pump for 99 bucks plus 12 in shipping on ebay all day everyday. And in anycase if you upgrade your good to go. Assuming the pump takes a dump.
