Eaton M90 S/C - Workable on Mustang 5.0's?

Hey guys i was recently told that its possible to make the Eaton M90 Superchargers work on a Mustang 5.0. And i was wondering if anyone has also heard these and might know anything about it. I would assume that it would be hard to tune but maybe not, or can you run it with out tuning it?

I was able to find a pic that i will post on the bottom if anyone was interested. I figured ya can get one of these in good shape for about $100-$200 with low miles. And i was thinking that this could really save me money but add some HP as well. I know espensive thing would probably be the fab work but my Dad is a Die Maker and might be able to help me figure something out.

But it interested me and they are cheap so it was intriguing to me. But what do you guys think, heard of this before, done it or got any guesses or comments about it? Thanks. - The Novice.

Just so you are aware, there is no kit available currently that utilizes an M90. That setup in the picture you posted is a retro-fit.

You can make it work, with money and fabrication. If your interested in an Eaton, dont waste your time with a 90. Get an M112.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing about the M112's but i guess they are too long and dont fit well/line up well, not enough space i guess.

Apparently it gives ya mad low end torque. But i was looking around and there was a guy i was reading about a guy who put one on his 5.0 and had it dynoed at 343 RWHP-410 RWTQ, but im sure he had some other mods. I also figured it would be a good idea to get the twin screws ported and such but i dunno.

Here's a link to some pics of this guys Stang. M-90 BBK Instacharger pics - Corral Forums

You can make anything work. There are alot of guys that have fabbed up intakes for the Eatons on 5 liters as well as Lincoln LS 3.9L and several other engines. If you have fabrication skills anything is possible.

ive seen a lot of 6cylinder guys do this and make shit for power. the m90 is a tiny shitty blower
as someone said and i recommend go for at least a m112 or bigger, whipple, KB, magnacharger, theres plenty of much better blowers

MP90s can make good power. There is a MP90 kit for 2.7L tiburons that routinely makes 350 hp at the wheels and puts shitty FWD cars into the 11s.

yeah i was thinking about trying to do something like in the 1st picture i posted. B/c i have a trickflow intake and like that and dont really wanna take it off. But i have to do some more research i dunno if its worth it or not yet, i know i can get the S/C for about a couple hundred $$$. and thats the nice thing. B/c im a college student and would love to get a KB blower but it will never happen.
But the main things that concern me are the temp. maintainence ( new porblems coming up and it not working right ) and tuning. Would it be hard and annoying to tune this thing or could it be done?

I would honestly save for a blower made for your car.

a h/c/i 5.0 can make those numbers you posted N/A

Eh your probably right. I already have a H/C/I replacement but yeah im sure it would give me more headaches than anything else.

Its just highly unlikely that ill ever get enough money ( that isnt needed for other things ) to get a nice blower. So this was my poor mans salution, lol. Oh well i guess.... Anyone have any other idea's to how i could get some more HP?

Well to be honest i have though about it but the thing is i bought this mustang as an unfinished project car and the motor was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and i dunno for sure if it has all forged internals. So can i even run nitrous safely? Or is there an easy way (with out taking the entire motor apart) find out if i have forged internals or not?

lots of people run nitrous on stock internals.

and of course there is an easy way to find out.

simply run your car down the 1320 with only 1 quart of oil in it.

when the piston makes a hole in the block just look inside.

ROFL! That was good. Ill have to try that one. But really on not forged internals? ( lets just say they are not forged to be safe ) How much can i run and do i have to back of my timing like crazy probably?
I had though about this before but i figured i would blow my engine. I would be a Nitrous Noob so i would prob go with a dry shot kit. I dont wanna blow up my engine if i did get it. So what would work best for me, in your opinion. Also whats the maintainence required to use nitrous? spark plugs and what not? Thanks btw for your help!

You can run 150 on cast pistons with no problems.

1 step colder plugs gapped at 0.035, pull 3-4 degrees of timing, use a WOT or window switch or both.

Also can i put one of these kits in myself or do i have to have someone else do it? If i can how many hours does it usually take (est.) And if not how much will it cost me to have someone else do it? (est.)

wot = Wide Open Throttle
a window switch basically put allows the nitrous to flow between at 2 set rpms.
the kids aren't too bad to install. maybe 3 hours to do it for first timer. as far as a shops install just add whatever your local shops labor rate is x 2-3 hours.
