well as long as the motor hasnt been sitting out side in the elements, and providing you have the funds to do so, do a simple rebuild or do like i did and put oil in that sucker and go! no, dont do that, provide us with i little more in depth info on this motor your dropping in and then we ccan assist you further.

Just throwing this out there but wouldn't you need a different Kmember for 5.0? I am not sure of the 2004 V6 but my 83 Vert V6 (3.8) had the same motor mounts as a 5.0, not sure if Ford changed them when they went to the 4.6 modulars a few years ago.

yeah for the record this could get a little tricky and pricey if not careful if i were you as more people post and tell you what you'll need i would right a parts est. price down on all of it. That way you know roughly what you'll have to spend to complete this project. And then if i were you i would est. a few hundred bucks on top of that, better to over est. than under. B/c it always sucks when every ya go to do a project and run out of funding to do it b/c of parts and problems came up.
yeah you will the 5.0L wiring harness and computer (89-93 year 5.0L Mustangs) **Mustang years before that had smeed density and you do NOT want that** The harnest can get expensive new so chech out e-bay. This could save you a lot of money. And for the Computer ebay search "A9L or A9P". Also are using a Auto or Manual Trans? b/c that could matter with the computer, you'll prob have to do some reseach. Finally are you using a T-56 or a T-5 from a Fox? If using the 2004 Mustangs tranny you might need something to fit to the 5.0L motor to the non- T-5 Tranny. Anyone Know if the T-56's need an adaptor or anything for the Fox 5.0L engine? I know that it can work but i dunno if he will need any new parts for it. But as long as you do some research and stay focused, you'll be very happy when its done, Best of luck! - The Novice. |

You should also know that it will probably be impossible to get the car inspected after that. I know laws vary from state to state so definitely make sure you check your local laws first. Here in NY, you can't pass with anything other than the original engine in the car if you have OBDII (which the 04 does), unless you pay a hefty penalty.

your best best it to at least get new pistons and clean up the walls in there...take it ip to a 306...but with that being said its not going to be that much more to make it a 347. thats a very good start.....
