1990 GT convertible check engine light
Hi guys:
I am living in South Africa and brought my 1990 Mustang GT convertible over with me. The car had done 150,000 miles and my mechanic suggested I have the engine reconditioned. Six months later and a lot of money, it is running well but the check engine light is on most of the time. Nobody in this country including the agents can read the onboard computer codes. Can I send the computer stateside? can I somehow read the codes myself with a laptop? I have disconnected the negative battery connector to rest the the obc but the light comes on again. all you need is a piece of wire. i used this 10 gauge wire i got at pep boys and a 1/4 inch male fitting to hook in to the self test ports. read this link. i think it can help you.

several threads for manual code reading...ck them all out, try it and give us the codes and someone can decipher them for you. I also have a link for a site that has all that
