Big Problem Or Little Problem?

Hows it going everyone. Well i posted a thread a couple of days ago about my car bogging down and a rough idle thanks to you guys i got the codes pulled and corrected the problems, after taking it for a run i let it sit and idle with the hood up just to let everything circulate since it was sitting for awhile. Well, while my father was over washing his car w/ my pressure washer he decided to turn my engine off and soak it down afterwards he goes and fires her up and now there is a loud ass ticking sound coming from my d/s heads. whenever he steps on the gas it just gets louder. So fellas I probably already know what the problem is but right now i am in denial, so is it what i think it is (serious engine failure) or am i over reacting and it is something simple? Thanks guys

well man, i hope its not as bad as what happened to me. This is a dirt bike not a mustang, but....
I was riding when it was about 20 degrees outside, got my bike really muddy, decided to wash it off. Well with the engine being hot, the air being cold, and the water being cold, that didnt make for a happy result. I ended up cracking my 250cc block. It would start, but just spray all the fluids and leak everywhere, out the exhaust, etc.

I hope that somebody can chime in and tell you what it is, but man, thats what happend to me.

yeah, i got no fluids coming out but that sound I know can not be good. I let it sit for about an hour and half but that same sound is still there. Im about to just part out with it and keep the 4.6. SOMEONE please shed some light.

Are you sure you just don't have an exhaust leak?
It really sounds like an exhaust leak to me though. I would check the header gaskets first. Maybe the cooler water hitting the hot engine warped the header flange or something...

I just remebered awhile back i thought i had an exhaust leak. I got my oil changed and the ticking went away a few hours after that. My car does some random stuff sometimes.

if you are careful....you can stick your hand near the headers to feel air escaping if the leak is bad enough

I know, but i just love the way that the fox bodies look and they got soooo much potential to them, do ya think that it is a major problem? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Won't know until you do some investigating. Check for a header leak, check the oil to see if it's thin or needs changed.
I would at least TRY to solve the problem before I sold it, that way, you'll get more money for it .
If someone hears a ticking or tapping in the engine compartment somewhere, they're not going to want to pay a lot for it, if anything, if they don't know what it is.

Why would you want to buy a sc when your getting a brand new turbo set up ready to bolt on for practically nothing?
Slap that turbo on and

I agree, keep the turbo, a sc is ok but a turbo is "hold on to your butts" every time you shift with a sc your psi will drop, a sc is not as efficent and you can run higher psi with turbo plus you will never get that sexy sound. imagine you pull up to some camero reving the engine and you pull up next to him like pshhhhh, as to say u aint shyt.
