Which Wuold You Buy??
Mustang 1 : 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0L 5 Spd - Winnipeg Ford Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg
Mustang 2: 91 mustang lx 5.0.l 5 speed - Winnipeg Ford Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg I went and looked at the first one already. Looks nice overall, sounded really strong, few small odds and ends need fixing, I mean really small though, things I probably wouldnt even bother with. But he does say the Tranny makes a howling noise, dosent effect functionality though. Didnt drive it yet. The second one I haven't seen yet, probably seeing tomorrow (well today lol), but from the ad it looks to be totally mint. I have talked Mustang 1 down too $6500 and Mustang 2 too $7000, both Canadian dollars. So not much of a price difference. I was all set and ready to buy Mustang 1 tomorrow, but Mustang 2 e-mailed back last minute and said he could let it go for the lower price. What do you guys think? I think Mustang 1 might run faster (without NOS) than Mustang 2, but Mustang 2 seems to be more of the total package. Let me know guys. I'll check this thread when I get home from work. I'll be on my way to buy one of the two tomorrow. I think it will all come down to the test drive. |

Hey, Well both Foxbodys appear pretty clean from the pictures. My main concern on "Mustang 1" is what has it been through. Picking up a car with a nitrous kit already installed and operating is not so pretty in my eyes. And I dont care what the guy says about the trans making noise. A properly operating trans doesnt make noise. Its a t-5 trans which are pretty strong but after a certain amount of HP and beating they breakdown. So thats probably the case on that trans. Another thing is go visit both sellers and take the ponys out and get on them. See how they perform. You might not like the way they ride if you take em for a spin. In my eyes the price range is a tad high on both of them. Considering they are not immaculate/low miles. They are decent cars with basic boltons. Dont make the mistake that I did when I bought my first mustang. Dont settle for something just cause its in your price range and you have the money. It might not seem like fun but wait a little while and find something that you will be 100% satisfied on. But if your looking for something with mods such as those and like the car 100% then talk them down in price cuz they are way high. And make sure you drive in it. Bring a magnet for bondo, baby the car and check all guages, then get on it and then check guages, let it idle for a good 5-10min. Restart a few times. With Mustang 1, Make sure you shift all gears, including reverse and see how the trans reacts. G/L with your choice.

Both cars are ok looks wise. But the 2nd might be a bit better shape. I noticed the 2nd still has the quad shocks on it , even though it has an aftermarket suspension. I would beat the shit out of both cars and make my decision there. Check underneath on both cars. Look at the torque boxes, and look for subframe connectors. Check the A pillars on the outside just at the top of the front windshield, where the A pillar connects to the acutal roof. Look for stress or cracks in this area.
If both cars run about the same. then i would start considering price and cosmetic factors. 2nd car has a non matching hood so consider price to paint match that.

Thanks for the input guys.
The prices may seem high, but dont forget, this is in Canada. It is alot cheaper in the states, I was looking at similar stangs in the states for around 5000 or 5500, but by the time I got it up here it would end up costing the same, plus all the hastle. Mustang 1 does have low K, that 168,000 Kilometers is just on the body. He tells me the engine trans and rear only have 8000 Kilometers max. And I agree about the already installed nitrous scaring me away, but if the motor is built for it then why not. I think the right choice is Mustang 2, but Mustang 1 is tempting because I like the color more and it probably would be faster even without the nitrous right? From whats listed on the ads, who do you think is making more power on motor? How much of a difference is there between and Fcam and the Ecam? And whats each of their uses? Is the Fcam a nitrous specific cam? And I actually think the hood is supposed to be black on Mustang 2, because he's going for the police interceptor theme. I dont mind it. I wish it was all black, or blue with a black hood though. Last edited by ztweny8; July 31st, 2008 at 10:18 AM. |

I dont think there is gonna be much of a difference in HP ......you can always throw on a N20 kit and be as fast as car 1 but I am sure car 1 has been beat on alot more.....and I agree with ^ that dude they both seem a little high but its whatever you think bro.....dont just jump into the first car you find....

I just looked at both cars again. And I think car 2 has a better suspension and frame under it. Its a sunroof car. Has a better intake manifold. White stay dirty just as black but shows up less blemishes. Already has racing seats in it. Needs hood painted.
Car 1 has better heads (gt40) but not that great. But it has a shitty intake. Who is to say those are really gt40 heads unless you know how to identify them as such and have already. Both cams are nice cams. The nitrous kit means jack shit to me. Nitrous is cheap to get into so dont even use that as a deciding factor. Its black which shows up everything and its a bitch to keep clean. Even though it is a kick ass color. It also has a sunroof. Interior looks nasty as hell also. Needs a horn button. If it were me I would get car 2. A nitrous kit and gt40 heads can be had pretty cheap. Under $1k american dollars. No engine shots of the black car either??? So that sux. White car has nice looking engine bay but the hood hinges arent bolted to a hood, so find out if that is a pin on or bolt on hood it has. I see no pins but doesnt mean the hood isnt just setting on the car for a picture.

Well to answer a few of your questions... i don't think that the motor in mustang 1 was built entirely for nos. With 10:1 compression and a stock block and nos.... I wouldn't expect the block to last too long if you plan to use the nos very often. The one in my car has given out at only 400 hp now.. and as for which motor makes more power on motor alone, you can't tell. Mustang 2 doesn't say entirely how he built his motor, try asking him if he installed over sized valves in the heads and what type of valve job he had done while porting. Either way the power differences won't be enough to base your decision on. The F-cam is a higher rpm cam that runs up to about 6000-6500 rpm while the E-cam is a mid range cam that runs well up to about 5500 rpm. While mustang 1 seems to be the faster car, if it doesn't have upgraded lifters then you can't really use the higher rpm range due to the stock lifters floating around 5600 rpm. Also, how will you be using the car? The F-cam is non-emissions friendly while the E-cam is. Mustang 1 might seem faster but I would bet on mustang 2, it's lighter and has better thought out modifications. The mods on mustang 1 relate to only a few specific areas while mustang 2 has mods that spread over the entire car, like the brakes...but the main speed mod is it's suspension, which enables you to launch at a higher rpm without wheelspin. Mustang 2 has also taken out those abnormally heavy stock front seats. They both look like great options but I would take mustang 2 over 1 any day, just because it seems to me like they thought out the modifications before they did them(along with new bushing because they just rock). Other than that, I hope you enjoy your new mustang!

Hey bro, Well Cams dont make a HP difference. Just alters from the stock cam, by adding either LOW-MID-HIGH RPM cam. If you want my honest opinion I would search around for something else. Nitrous scares me away, unless I personally know who built/operated the vehicle. Theres better out there man, just keep your head up and keep searchin. G/L with what ever route you take.

the best foxbody is an unmolested fox body. believe me, its not fun to fix other peoples hack jobs. look for cracks under the front seats.
dont let the whole 'fully built motor' and what not be the selling point. i would much rather have a 100% stock mustang and bolt the parts that I want on, that way you know what you have and youll know your car better overall. number 2 sounds like the better car out of the two, a little high in price though |

Well I bought Mustang number 2. Went and looked at it on my lunch break and it blew me away how clean everything is. You could eat off the bottom of this car. He has every single recipt, and documentation of all the work he did. And he also gave me a DVD with 100's of pictures showing the car all throughout its time with him.
Their was really no comparison. I did perfer the color blue of Mustang 1 over my cars colors, but the white and black really grows on you, and all the extra mods over the other one, plus the IMMACULATE condition of the underbody. It was an easy choice. The Blue one was fast, but probably beat to shit. The one I got is in immaculate condition, and its more of the whole package. Speed, Handling, interior is done up nicely etc. And for all the people saying the prices were too high, like I said earlier, in Canada, specifically Winnipeg, cars go for more money. It would have ended up costing the same if I went and traveled for one with a cheaper price. Stock 5.0's in good condition with 200 Kilometers are going for 4 or 5 G's here. This one has 14,000 Kilometers on engine and trans, and he gave me proof. Im really happy with it, and I look forward to learning more on this site and learning how to bang the gears really good lol (first 5 speed). Last edited by ztweny8; August 1st, 2008 at 01:26 AM. |

that car is REAL clean. no leaks, rust, scrapes on the bottom, etc. looks like the owner took care of it. think you made a good decision. i see it has some DR's on the back. did the car come with them? also i see the front sway bar is loose. im assuming he raced it if it came with the tires and that would also explain the sway bar bein loose. overall the car is very clean. nice buy, still a lil pricey tho but oh well.......i cant get over how clean it is underneath........
