Aluminum flywheel Question/request
I have a Fidanza in the car now (stock 5 liter) in the next few weeks the 347 gets a new home in the car. Thing is the aluminum flywheel has a 50 ounce balance (removable weight) the 347 is a offset ground stock 351 crank which is a 28 ounce balance.....I need a weight, will Fidanza sell a weight or does someone have one laying around.
Also is the 50 ounce really perfectly 50 ounce cause I do have a friend that has a CNC mill in his garage and he can just machine some off until the 28 ounce is acheived. |

throw it on a scale and find out... and wouldn't you need to set the 28weight on the offset for the 351 crank? if you've changed the balance of the crank from stock then the weight should be changed too shouldn't it?

I got the fly wheel from a buddy of mine and he had the 302 so god knows where the weight went, My buddy with the mill can probably get it within an gram but i was just wondering if anyone knew if it is absolutely perfect.

I wouldnt mill it if I were you... contact the flywheel manufaturor before you do ANYTHING.
and it will need to be spun on a balancer to determine true center for the offset, before you can remove any weight
