4 to 5 lug and rear disk
whats up guys and girls new to the site i have a 88 mustang lx i want to convert my 4 lug to 5 and my rear drum to disk....what i have is a complete rear end out of a 87 Lincoln mark vii ....can i have the axles shortened and use all the brake hardware to make this work ???? also im trying to use 18" billets wheels 5 lug i dont think i can use the front rotors from the Lincoln mark because the dust cap will stick out to far dose anyone know if this is the case

might can use a rear from a sn95. my 94 has disks.

I am using the axles out of the same Lincoln without modification to the axle itself, although there are other modifications you will have to consider in this project, primarly being the diffrence in the brake cable and the readjustment rear/front proportioning valve below the master cylinder among other things. Basicly you are attempting to do the same thing the original SVO Team did in the "eighties" with the "famed" 84-86 SVO. The brakes off the SVO's are in fact the same as the Lincoln Mark VII.... As far as the wheels are concerned I am currently using the "93" 17" Cobra R rims with 245/45ZR17 tires on both front and back !!! NOTE: REPLACE FRONT FENDERS FOR THE LARGER OPENING 90-93 FENDERS.. |
