Good or bad ???


ok i just had my car on the dyno and i had 166 Rwhp and 220 ftlbs power peaked at 3500 does that sound right...
cars sd not maf, sea level, 235 60 15's tire size

Mod list ..
BBK shorty headers
BBK off road H-Pipe
Flow Master cat back
355 gears out back
Upgraded engine and trans mounts
Goodyear rad hoses
Ford Motorsport 9mm wires
Ford Motorsport Cap + Button
Ford racing A/C eliminator

that doesn't sound right to me.. some other guy had his stock 5.0 dynoed and it was like 192rwhp and i forgot what the torque was

it was 91cobra5.0 and he put down


91 mustang
266 ftlbs 191 hp (15.138 @92.91)

almost stock and alot higher elevation, and i doubt his power topped off at 3500

stock at the motor should be around 215-225 and w/ that list of mods obviously more. I think that is quite a bit lower than I'd expect.

it was on a dyno, its not gona read 215-225 at the wheels

I know that.....I said at the motor didn't I??? W/ the parasitic loss through the drivetrain it should still be more.

It depends on the chasis dyno, take it somewhere else and the power may go up.

it has more then that stock. there is a problem some where.

i know its not the problem but i changed the fuel filter it was pretty choked up tomorrow night if all goes well i am going to check the plugs and compression, fuel pressure and clean the injectors, and make sure my tps is reading right. any other things i should check?

I am not sure on the HP but 3500 seems really low for peak.....unless its diesel...j/k ....I would say maybe a compression test is needed...and maybe check the timing ....but if they dynoed it they should have checked that i would think....who knows....

In the area of 200hp at the wheels for the modifications you have. Possibly a bit higher or lower depending on the type of dyno, weather conditions, etc.

i checked the fuel pressure its 32 psi running, compression is 150psi on all cyl's, cleaned the injectors, changed the fuel filter, found one bad plug, checked timing. where do i go now ? it had code 81, 82, 85, 84.... i have the egr deleted.
