backfiring at WOT?

I've had my 88 for about a week now and I finally got on it in the past few days. When I go WOT my car backfires in the upper RPMs. I have dumps but I can still feel it and here it slightly. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm thinking maybe the plugs need to be regapped or I'm running lean maybe.

It just had a full tune up before I bought it. But I might look into changing the plugs and see if that does anything.

change the plugs, look at how good the cap/rotor are, if they are bad change them, see if its still doing it and then check timing, then check fuel pressure.

I'm gonna change the plugs on friday when I get paid. I think it's fuel related though. Most likely the filter. Because today I got on it a little bit and it seemed like it was hesitating a little
