it'll all come down to the drivers. i believe that on the street the auto has the advantage 95 percent of the time, too many times the stick drivers gets too excited and blow the tires off and the race is usually over

its really not under rated... i have riddin in one and i garantee it would smoke the shit and i have seen alot of vids for those and they almot alwAYS win....there fast but really heavy there downfall and you rright ls1 sorry i made a mistake

The Cobra engines are have underated horsepower numbers from the factory. That is a proven fact. If my memory serves me correct the numbers guys were coming up with on engine dynos were some where in the 270hp area. I have a white 95 in my garage right now that made 220 horsepower at the wheels when it was bone stock. 03-04 Cobras are the same way. They are rated at 390hp and they have consistently dynoed in the 420s. The Boss Mustangs of 69 and 70 were under rated as well. Ford is notorious for under rating horsepower figures.

i thought they changed the way ford rated hp to the correct way in 93.. hence thats why the 93 was rated for 205... and 265 torque

The 1993 5.0L HO was rated at 205 hp and 265 torque. The 93' Cobra 5.0 engine was rated at 235hp and 285 torque. I had a feeling that it was under rated. How can; with better cam, heads, intake, etc..; it be only 30 more hp and 20 more pounds of torque. That seems too little for many improvements.

yeah i figured it was just the same like 225 hp and 300 torque and then cobra was 265hp and 325 torque

All you need are a pair of drag radials, you will dip into the 13's easy.
Here is a vid of a LT1 camaro I raced. I also raced a LT1 t/a same story . I own a 1993 GT with drag radials, exhaust, pro 5.0, SFC's, and 3.73s. |

in that video you are not racing an lt1 anything. thats a 3rd gen camaro with an l98 engine in it rated 240 hp. those are even the stronger ones from 89-92. they were only rated at 220 from 87-88. personally i do not like the lt1 engines, they do not react well to any mods like the ls1. however they will jump on an ls1 from the line. if you look at an lt1 dyno sheet, there peak torque hits right away and stays there. they are also not rated at 285hp 335 torque until 96-97 but are 275hp 325 torque from 93-95.

i hear that the only reason they under rate the h.p. is because it cost less...if the 03-04 cobra was rated over 400 from the dealer they would cost more....and probly insurance also...but thats just from wat i hear i could be wrong..
