Cool, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Even more of a reason to not get rid of the A/C.

Ditching the A/C was cool in the 80s and 90s but I think fast cars with quiet exhaust and all accessories (including A/C and powersteering) are cool these days.

yeah, you can also tap into this wire for an undercover nitrous activation (no micro switch needed). It is the orange/lt blue wire that connects to the A/C cutoff switch and pin 54 of the A9L. This wire is grounded under WOT only, so you can connect your nitrous relay ground to this wire and the circuit is only completed during WOT. bye bye micro switch.

Good information there. I like being sneaky.

I agree. I want to enjoy driving my car and not suffer. I will forever have AC!

It's not that I want to get rid of the A/C, It actually never came with the motor. I think...

I bought the motor to swap into my 1st Gen Rx7 (Which never had A/C). Since my car does not have power steering, I am just taking off the heavy bracket and pump. This is my first 5.0, and so far loving it. Still trying to get the MegaSquirt to run properly though.

Well that makes it a different ball game then. If your car doesn't have A/C or powersteering then there is no reason to keep the pumps or brackets on your engine.

I go along with this... People always tell me, you are losing power having all the accessories... I laugh right in thier faces. First off the a/c is nothing more than an extra pulley when the a/c is off and power steering does not hurt a thing. I always tell em, "if vettes can produce over 500+hp with all accessories off the lot, then why the hell can we match or beat the hp range with ours with the accessories and don't say because chevys can do that!". People don't realise that blocks and pistons are made for both companies and same for cams. It's a matter of how you put your stuff together meaning your setup.

You are modifying a spring loaded tensioner. I don't think there is anything to explain. Post a picture of it and it will explain itself.

Which is where I decided to "rig" it just a little bit followed by LOL. That says enough for me right there and if that's not enough you are putting a screw in something to keep it from doing what its meant to do. All darrell is saying is if you want to f up your car go ahead but don't talk people into doing it too. Just cause it can be done doesn't mean its a good idea. You CAN drive a car with your feet but you are never gonna catch me rolling like that.

How fast is faster than 75% of the cars on here? How fast are 75% of the cars on here? There are alot of fast cars on this site and likewise there are alot of guys that could care less about going fast and just like driving a Mustang.
