CAI Under the Fender possible problem?
I got a BBK CAI, fiter is under the fender (fender wall, or whatever it is) but the filter is under the fender. I do have the black rubber/plastic under the fender, allowing for water not to get up. But at the front where the filter is under the fender, can water get up there if its raining hard. I know if I drive the car in a fricking big puddle of water. Possible yeah, but regular driver and if water splash, can water get it?
And would it be wise to move it inside? or is it fine there. I always get worried about it when it rains and had to drive. As you can figure I am not that fimilar with this. The filter is an K&N filter. Thanks for the input. |

No Sorry I dont have any picture. It is one of those regular BBK CAI, that replace the OEM, but I don't know if water will get in. Its not inside the engine compartment. It just exited the compartment under the fender. I'll try get a picture tomorrow. One more thing. My car is convertable, the dome light stays on, when the car is off, I turn the head light all the way counter clockwise and its still on... Any idea what will cause it?
Thanks

My air filter is about 8" off the ground, no probs with it. The only way you'd have a problem is if you drove through a puddle deep enough for your filter to suck water up.

Well mine is more than that, I know if the filter is in water it will get water in. But it is way higher than that. Water wouldn'[t get sucked in if it splash up?

You will be fine with the BBK...
I had a tunable induction/denscharger on mine when I hydrolocked my motor...It does not take much water to hydroclock a motor...But as long as you dont go in water deep enough to submerge any part of the filter then you should be fine... |
