that pretty much sums it up, and the only "jap car" worth while in my opinion is a supra......and if you think this stuff is expensive try one of those on for size....a friend of mine just paid $1800 for stock replacement door panels and another $850 for headlighs....cheaper? i think not

Supras are definitely cool and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

99 % of the supras make great roll racers ( btw i think roll racing is ) but don't make good drag cars. by the time you've come up on the boost i'm so far ahead you ain't runnin me down 800 hp or not

some imports are cheap to build and can be fast... but cheaper to build than a fox body? I doubt it lol. I can flip through summit or jegs and build an nhra approved drag car in the 10k range and run 10's.

that is a sick ride, but i posed that video because he's running that time on a stock 6 speed tranny...thats what i thought was impressive....and his launches are insane for having that big of a turbo

my dad and i have a 66 nova that ran in the 10's last season and the total including that car to do that was around 19K it's a 383 stroker, full tub, 4 link suspension, full roll cage, all the good stuff

its currently torn to pieces right now (all that is left is the body, no floors, no front end, etc) front tube chassis because were aiming for mid 9's before nitrous. it's going to be able to run on street gas also...i can post some current pics if anyone is interested

haha imports are just that "cheap"....a buddy of mine tunes them and he has a 10 second civic that has a sleeved block that has to get torn down every season

deffenitly not cheaper we just tore down my buddys civic hatch tonight its a 10.7 car just rebuilt 6k miles ago by the previous owner and it already needs new rings, thats running about 25lbs of boost on a b18c engine. the previous owner dumpped about 18k into this thing and its only running 10.7 on race gas.. hell my 347 stroker should be able to run 10.7 on the bottle with race gas and i have about half into my car as he does his.

no doubt that its impressive that those little engines can make big power its very respectiable but trying to get the power to the ground in a 500hp front wheel drive car is a beast of its own...

DSM's arent bad cars. ie 1st/2nd gen talons, eclipses, lazers as long as its the AWD turbo. and they are fairly inexpensive and pretty fast stock. they can keep pace with a stock fox body

There isnt a bone stock fox body mustang on this planet, that will beat, run down, catch, reel in.. a gutted, boosted b-series civic hb.

Hell, i had a 93 civic vx hb, gutted, with only two seats, and a dash. Bone stock JDM ITR swap (B18c5-B18c) with a 96 ITR trans, and GSR 4.40:1 final drive. With a set of M&H slicks, stock front suspension, and half a tank of gas, at 3100ft... it ran 13.97@99mph. 1.890 60fts. Wasnt too bad for an N/A 1.8L, stock suspension, pump gas ricer. Only had $5,000 invested into the car, including the price of the car. Best thing about the car was it got 34mpg!

After i put alil more into the car, and engine (turbo build) it went 10.00s @ 140+. I counted all the receipts, and i only had about $12,000 invested, total... to go 10s, with a 4 banger, daily driven, on pump gas. Wheres a stock fox that will beat that?

Just given ya shit man!
