Upper Control Arm Install

I just put my new lower control arms in today. I still have to do the uppers and it looks like they are not gonna line up very easily to the bracket on the rear axle. It looks like the rear axle shifted to the right. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice for moving the rear axle around?!?

Another set of hands. I did mine myself, and it required quite a bit of muscle.

don't tighten the lowers till you get the uppers on , leave everything loose till you get both uppers and lowers and shocks all bolted up, then go ahead and tighten everything up. nothing lines up exactly perfect but with a little persuasion you'll get it, i did mine myself also

I don't know if this is a good way or not but I've moved my rear end around with an extremely large bar (like a 6ft gorilla bar or 2x4) against the ground under the axle and wedged up against the rear drum. You lift up on the bar and leverage does the work. Make sure you don't tip the car off the jack stands.

want to know how ghetto i was when i did the front springs on a couple of my previous cars ? i rented a spring compressor to compress the springs but the springs wouldn't fit with the compressor compressing the springs so i compressed the springs, put 3 large hose clamps on the springs and tightened em down really tight, put the spring in and cut the clamps off with some cutters. you can do this without a compressor by just alternately tightening down the clamps but this is VERY DANGEROUS and ghetto but sometimes you have to do what ya gotta do to git er done
