Looking at some gt 40's with some questions

I was just wondering how much you guys would pay for a set of clean low milage heads off a 97 moutanier. The guy that selling em says they are the non p heads. Is this true?

Early 97s were non P heads. They are worth about $200-$250 dollars. Keep in mind you will have to mill these heads to keep your compression ratio at 9:1. The Explorer GT40 heads had 65cc chambers. Mustang E7 heads had 62cc chambers and GT40P heads have a 60cc chamber.

Well I have a friend of a friend that's selling em really cheap So i'm thinking of buying them and selling them on ebay or something cause I've been watching and there selling for 350 -400 So i was gunna try and make some quick cash. How would these compare to my iron jr heads I have on my car now? Also what should I look for to know I'm buying the correct heads? Thanks again darrell

there the world jr heads iron. You've helped me on it befor my cars is not very fast I gained like 1 or 2 tenths from a 180,000 mile stocker to a fresh 302 with b cam and world jr heads full igniton etc... I also have a brand new set of 205 cc tfs heads that I'm waiting to put on a shortblock i'm gunna order from woody this winter. My car went 15.003 at 93mph at 5300 ft above. you told me that my cam and intake are holding me back so I'm gunna try and flip these heads and get an intake manifold and some drag radials and see if what it'll do than.

On the top where the valvesprings are the P heads say GT40P clearly. There are P stamps in various other places on the heads. On one of the front top corners and inside some of the exhaust ports as I recall.

the bars are on the end of the heads. also, at the lower right hand corner, near the head bolt hole... the heads will either be marked GT, or GTP

I'd use the Windsor Jrs. The GT40P heads need to be machined to accept screw in studs and guide plates to use roller rockers. The Windsor Jr heads are already set up for guide plates and screw in studs not to mention they come with better hardware and a stronger intake port.

I was referring to World Windsor Jrs. If I said Edelbrock Windsor Jrs somewhere, I apologize. Just because they are iron doesn't make them bad.
