tired of guessing
took the turbo mustang around the block this afternoon. running pretty well with the new methanol injection working. or at least for a couple minutes. all of a sudden it bogs down and dies. I roll start it because im still doing 40 and it has next to no power, sputters like crazy and goes up and down. dies over and over again. will idle but barely moves. I cant decide maybe its vapor locking? maybe too much methanol? or does that sound more like a bad fuel pump? its carbed so no injector issues possible. any thoughts? I want to see the track this year but have to work out all these stupid little problems first

just pour the methanol in the gas tank works alot better that way

lol...so anyway.
Sounds like it is loading up with fuel. It is carbed, so you may have the idle valves set too high exposing the intermediate circuit slots too much, the needle valve could be bad letting the fuel bowls over fill, your pressure regulator could be set too high, could be the methanol kit, try using just water and decreasing the amount injected. Also could be a blow power valve in the carb. If all those fail, maybe check the blinker fluid and muffler bearings.

![]() thanks for the info. i will start checking all that in the next couple days. here is a question for you, without buying a high dollar controller for the methanol, is there any way for me to throttle the flow down without stressing the pump? either valve or electrical. |
