building 86 coupe from ground up let me know what you think.


ok so here it is 1986 coupe needs some work, but ive gotten everything pulled and cleaned getting ready to put back together. Its getting a full age and stuff. the motor is no where near stock has tons done. i still need tires and rims rear susp. and all that good stuff. But its coming along nicely " i think".

i've been there , did mine from the ground up also ( ran out of money before i could paint it ) take your time and above all don't get discouraged when the little problems crop up. Looking good so far

Wow, someone went over kill with the crank trigger and Super Victor with stock heads.

Make sure you have a reputable chassis shop do the roll cage and not some backyard mechanic. Quality is worth a price. Team Z Motorsports has probably the best rear suspension kit on the market. You can usually find good deals on used rims on Ebay.

its actually a motor for a superstock car for NHRA soo it has to run the stock heads, but they have been worked to the max. but i know there still a stock head. have you ever heard of anyone making 600 horse power off of a stock head??

Yep, that was all there used to be was stock heads. Not worth the money that you have to stick into them these days..........unless you race superstock. Something like that would make a nice sleeper especially if you started talking about 3/4 race cams and doing wheelies on the street. People would think you were so full of shit and then they would never know what hit them.

bump. so anyone know how big a tire can fit under the rear? no quads fenders roled...how big a tire and how wide a rim?

well there 289 heads soo the combustion chambers are really small and tight, but the flow numbers were around 3** something.
