Door lock problems

My driver side door lock is all messed up, the power switch wont lock the door and neither will the key, i cant even push the pin down manually. i dont think my lock cylinder is messed so im thinking it can only be the actuator right? but why would that keep me from locking it with the key?

Cause when you lock it with the key it moves your actuator too

Your actuator is junk its stuck. Got to the junkyard and pull one from a junker or buy one from Latemodel Restoration Supply - Mustang Parts, Chevy Truck Parts & Dodge Challenger Parts

I never used a bolt before I dont know if you'll be able to get the nut on the other side

You just need to take off your door panel then drill out the rivit un hook the wire running to it. Then there should be a rod that hooks to the lock cylinder by a little hook on the end of the rod. Make sure the new one goes in the way you took it out the rod in the raised or lowerd position. Then hook the loop of the rod around the lock cylinder where it goes then put a rivit in the one side and pop it shut. You might be able to use a bolt but I dont know you'll have to look at that. Then instal the door panel and your done. Its pretty simple once you see it you'll see how it goes

Let me know how it works for ya
