sorry but don't know where else to post this

ok so i put up pics of my new project 91 notch on my desktop (and yes i actually replaced a pic of my wife w/ it lmao) and a guy out here in iraq see's it and starts asking what all i have done to it, which i reply nothing yet b/c i just had my wife pick it up but started explaining to him what i was planning. he then reponds w/ hey sounds ok, but im not really into domestics, but i wouldn't mind having you in my car club... ok im not really into "car clubs" im more into just hanging out w/ my friends, but if a good respectalbe MUSTANG club ever wanted my car id consider it. but anyways he was telling me all about his club, so i had to ask the name lol. the name was INVIOUS IMPORTS!!! ok first of all you just asked a mustang owner to join a club w/ imports in the name and secondly i asked what kind of car he had. he told me he had a chevy cavalier that before delpoyment ran a 11.2 w/ the stock motor but header, injen intake, and a 75 shot of nos lol but when we get back he's dropping a h22(yes the honda motor) and going w/ a 175 shot of nos and should run 9s lmao. i looked at him, told him never to talk to me about cars again and walked off lol, i hate rice.

its ok man, we have all had a very similar story once or twice, some people just think that racing cars and improving times is just something people do to look cool, they dont realize everything thats behind doing this for a hobby

I knew a dude from work that claimed his Civic was the shit, talked about tearing up Mustangs at lights and all the work he had done to it, Vtech this, Ingen and Type-R that etc... I think he used rice math and claimed some high HP numbers he had.
I saw him at the track one night and it ran like upper 17's and sounded just like every other plain jane Civic with a big exhaust tip. After he ran he STILL really believed the thing was fast. He claimed that if he could have got traction, he would have done much better. I saw his run, he has an auto and there was NO wheel spin. I don't remember his exact trap speed but it was consistent with upper 17's. Even with timeslip in hand, he still talked about how fast the car was and how much work he did to it. It was like he mentally blocked out the fact the car was only capable of running high 17's and he believed something else. He still told stories of blowing away Mustangs and Camaros at the lights and how much faster he was after adding something else. Odd. I thought his track showing would have snapped him back to reality but it did not.

I can assure you... a chevy cavalier will NOT run 11's with a 75 shot of nitrous. I have a Sunfire GT that I drive as my beater car. Now... I know how to race, and I know how to drive that car. I am fairly confident that the car wouldnt see anything lower than a very very high 14 second run.

a 75 shot on my cobra only improved my 1/4 time by .8 seconds
