you might be able to get a chip burned if you look into it, my buddy has a mark IV that he turned the rev limiter on, or you can get a pin out from turbolx and see i you can find it

I don't think so, I think you'll need a new chip. Might as well get a stand alone and quit wasting money.

there are alot of people that say that fuel injection can be just as fast as carborated applications but almost everyone i have herd of that has changed from injected to carbd has gained a signifinant amount of power.. i am sure there are alot of variables involved but it just seems its just easier and cheaper to go fast with a carbd application.

there is some truth to that. but i already have a carbed 302 and i like having the drive-ability of fuel injection

The carb vs EFI will always be a debate. I am carbed, and I have had EFI. I think both are great. Carb was the cheaper route for me since my car was a 4 cyl car. So coverting to v8 was quicker and easier going carbed. I still get good drivability with the carb also. or atleast thats my opinion. My carbed 90 lx gets as good MPG as my wifes 98gt. I also dont have to have a chip or a dyno tune everytime I mess with the engine. Which is a long term payoff IMO. When I get everything like I want. I will probably throw it on the dyno and have it fine tuned.

The computer isn't taking rpm away at 5850, you have other issues there but it will start cutting fuel at 6250. You can have a chip burned to eliminate the factory rpm limit or you can find a used Ford Racing RPM Extender like 93mustank said. They don't make them anymore but you can find them used.

Sure you can gain all kinds of power by switching to a carb if the person tuning the EFI system doesn't know what they are doing. There are guys in my area that use carburetors as door stops and consistently make more power with EFI than carburetors. There are guys that will argue with that and say carburetors make more power than EFI but you have to ask yourself what the experience of these people is. Their is a place in my area that throws carburetors away on a daily basis from customers that come in swearing that carburetors are superior to EFI and they leave with EFI making more power. These guys have a little bit of experience in the field too. One of the owners is formerly an R&D specialist at Accel DFI and an instructor at Wyotech and has tuned some national record setting EFI vehicles. Here is there shop vehicle....
