Was there power before you put in the pump or were you changing the pump because you thought it was dead?
Sounds like your ground is okay but the +12v wire is open or the relay, or inertia switch is causing your problem. How are you measuring the juice, using chassis ground or through the ground wire going to the pump? I would start at the relay under the seat, should momentarily click on when key first turns on and run the pump for a second or 2. The pump will only fully work once the engine is running. You can try a jumper wire to bypass each item individually to see if pump comes on. As for the flooding" Where is it flooding at, you may have pinched the return line to the tank. I maybe repeating what you have already checked, but hope it helps. Good Luck |

Yes it should be, it was on my 86 GT, don't believe that ever changed, as there was a post just before this that had a similar problem, it was disconnected.

Is your fuel connector fully seated, might need new O-rings.

I've seen some of the Ford in tank pumps become disconnected inside the tank with the rubber hose connection on the plastic pump(s), check this maybe it blew off with back pressure.
Regulator I believe is the round canister part on your fuel rail on the manifold with the injectors. It also allows unused fuel to bypass and return to the tank. |

it sounds like you pinched the return line when you put the tank back up in. I did the same thing. my fuel pressure gauge was pegged, & when i would turn the key on the pump was very loud. you might want to check it

For your non-running pump (i know it sounds silly but) did you push the fuel shutoff reset button located behind the driver side tail light in the trunk?
