Here is my exact set up, and I know... it's nothing special.

302 low compression pistons supposedly forged along with the rods
Downs intake manifold
Gt40p heads with e7 rockers
f303 cam
30lb injectors
v2 s-trim with a 3.33 pulley which I believe is 10 pounds.
pmas 80mm maf
255 in the tank.

I have an fmu, but I think I'm just ganna run an fpr instead. Like I said if I crack 400 I'll be happy. Id just like to trap around 114 plus. Think 400 is possible. And do I have to get the msd box to retard the timing before I go get the beast tuned?

Be careful with just 30's. I have 30's and with the FMU bringing pressure to over 85# under boost, I am starting to get a little lean. There are many online charts and calculators for fuel injector sizing. The problem with trying to jack up the FPR base setting above the stock 39# is keeping the car from stalling, bucking, and hunting at low rpm. I have my base FP at 33# which is a good compromise. Some people have no problems with 30# injectors and higher than stock fuel pressure at idle, I'm not one of them. The result for me with if i had no FMU and increased the base pressure would be poor driveability at the low end AND not enough fuel at the top. A chip or standalone can fix the low end stumbling but you might as well go with 42's and no fmu if your doing a computer fix.
Many people frown on using an FMU because it is a band-aid. That may be the case but it does work.

I would suggest some type of retard if you are running over 6# on pump gas without some type of intercooling. I've never tried mine without it using at least 1 degree per pound. Maybe someone with more experience can speak about that.

Well 30lb injectors is what I'm stuck with for now. I wasn't sure if it would be safe to make like 420 on those injectors, but you seem to be doing 470. So you would suggest that I run the fpr and the fmu, just crank the fuel pressure way up in boost, and have it sit a little bit higher for idle?

Say when I get the blower on and get it set up like that, how bad will I need a tune? or is it safe to drive around on. Assuming I get the msd box (which one exactly should I buy).

get a 4:1 or 6:1 FMU with a bleeder valve fitting and a MSD 6 AL.

Using these 2 devices you can get an excellent tune. You're fuel pressure should be around 32-34 PSI at idle (38 vacuum line off regulator). The FMU will do the rest.

A 6:1 will be very safe pulling 1.5 degrees per pound of boost.

I have 30s with a 4:1 FMU and it does fine as far as A/F. I estimate well over 600 hp at the crank.

I've got an fmu, It's a blue vortech one that came with my kit. I don't know the ratio.

Take the 6 screws off the top and measure the size of the disc in there. They are interchangeable, so you can make any vortech FMU any ratio from 4:1 to 12:1. Post the size up and I'll tell you the ratio. Also, I have the disk for a 6:1 ratio I'll sell you cheap.

Ok, I'll get to that in a little, but about this 6al box. Which one retards the boost. I'm checking out ebay, and most only have 2 step and rev limiters. Nothing with boost retard and the nob.

Well I pulled the disc out, I don't have anything to measure it with... lucky me. But its just a little over an inch from what I can tell.
