Injectors

Hey guys i might make my self comfortable here soon if i can find sum info on this car.. i used to have a turbo'd v6 that i sold for a good price so i could buy a cobra.. well any how my buddy is selling his 94 cobra that he recently dropped a 347 motor in.. this motor is forged, ported and has stage 2 motor parts along with a procharger.. but i drove his car a few days back and it responds very well up until about 4k rpm's then is seams to like lose power and it kinda forces me to shift because it wont accelerate hardly at all even when its punched! any ways he has 24lb injectors.. i was just wondering if u guys think that could b the problem?.. cause im almost sure that has to b it.. so if u guys agree im about to buy these 42lbers then buy his car tomorrow lol... 24s are way too small for supercharged 347. It is probably running dangerously lean, what other fuel parts does it have? FMU?

Ive heard that Venom injectors isnt the best ones on the market, id look for Ford Racing injectors.

Sounds like it's starving for fuel. Is he running an FMU with the blower?

It seems really odd to spend the money and time on a 347 with forged internals and a procharger and completely forget about the injectors.... What else was forgot or where else was money "saved"? You said this was your buddy so in theory, he is not trying to screw your over.

as far as the fuel parts: he said he has a "high pressure fuel pump, a new filter, and they are after market injectors jus not big enough"..

FMU stands for Fuel Management Unit. Its a secondary fuel pressure regulator mounted in fuel return line and is used to raise fuel pressure with boost. It looks like this, color may be different. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...WS6/ATIFMU.jpg It helps but not enough, if you end up buying the car get those 42s and a good tune for those, and then you can ditch the FMU.

Yeah, that procharger should pull harder above 4k than under 4k. Definitally sounds like a lean condition ( not to be repetative ).
On a side note. I have a personal rule about buying other peoples projects, I dont. I only buy bone stock cars, now its a bit more expensive than buying something that already has parts but you get half as many headaches down the road.
