Need Help Asap!!

OK i have an 91 Mustang GT i just put on an trickflow upper and lower intake, 70mm throttle body, bbk cold air intake, pro-flow 75mm mass air flow, 24lb injectors. And it ran pretty good after i finish it all and could tell the difference from when it was stock. But just the other day i put in some 3.73 gears in and now its having problems with it starting sometimes, sometimes the fuel pump want kick off when the key is turned others it will, then sometimes when i try to start it up it seems like its jumping time so i go and mess with the distributor to time it and then it'll run decent again but then after driving it for a little bit it'll do the same thing, my check engine light will come on and then it'll stall and do the same thing all over again it wont start and if it starts it'll back fire then just stall out. But tonight it happen it stalled and then i try to start to start it and it started for a second and when i gave it gas it would just back fire then stall but then i waited like 30seconds to start it again it started right up like nothing happen. I am clueless does anyone have an ideal whats going on or what i should do ? Let me know asap if you could, would really like to get this fix. Thank you.

If you could message me on AIM or something that would be great. Thanks

almoust sounds like 180 out on the distributor, other than that check your vacume lines

did you make sure you have the dist marked when you pulled it out?

also check firing order

See that happen before when i first put all the intake on and evrything and i re timed it right after that but then it just started to act all up after the gears.. I was told something about my timing belt and the gears in it might be wore out ? That for the reason it jumping time ?

The 3.73 gears would have nothing to do with the engine starting/backfiring

but after you put the intake on, if you didnt mark where you pulled your dist at before you pulled it out and just slapped it back in, the engine will not know what cyl to fire. so it will run like shit.

Yeah, i have the book on the mustang so everything was done right when i retimed it. But just everything started to happen after i put the gears in. And What about that timing belt ? Because i was told it might be wore or something and its not holding up and i should get a new one so i was thinking about going to get one this morning but if doesnt sound like i shouldnt get one i dont wanna get one. And do the caps have any sort of gaskets on it to hold on it nice and tight? Because its kinda lose too just going up and down on the cap.

Yeah i made sure the clamps were both on. And its just the cap like if you were trying to rock it back and forward. But im going to get a new one anyways because i got shocked today when i was trying to time it. But with the fuel pump like when it sometimes doesn't turn off well i know its always running but when you turn the key and it'll make that noise for a second and stop but it just keeps going and from the relay it makes like a spark noise ? I dont get it i've never had a problem like this before.

Sounds like the ignition module might be going bad. Gremlins like this can be hard to find.

your car has a timing chain, id vote ignition module.

your gears wouldnt cause any issues like this, but if your timing it and then tightening it down correctly, it shouldnt be any issue with the timing.

There are all kinds of places in Michigan that tune cars. I don't know what your definition of cheap is so I can't answer that. You get what you pay for.
