How bad do Superchargers effect fuel mileage?

I went from 23-24 highway to like 20-21 highway. In town was a lot worse. But not bad for doubling the power output...

i've seen increase with a turbo before but not a super charger.

superchargers wont increase but a turbo will because the supercharger your losing power to turn it while a turbo is just using your exhaust

Why? Some people like to have their cake and eat it too. I know a few people who like to mod their cars but at these gas prices, don't want to sacrifice mileage. If its your only means of transportation, I can definitely understand this question.... I'm not one of those people, but then again, my mustang isn't my only car.
