block heater plug?

block heater plug?


does anyone know if and where the block heater plug is on a 1990, 302 engine and also where are the frost plugs located?

one more thing, i only had water in my engine ( slaps myself in the head) and it froze over night?

Ouch! hopefully it was frozen solid.

Look on the side of the block up near the motor mount position and you will see a couple of round disk shaped plugs about 1.5-2" round. These are the frost plugs (or casting/core plugs when casting). Look for a power cord going to one or an electrical terminal, this would be your block heater if you have one. Could be on either side.

As for damage from the freeze up: look for water in oil, or vice versa. Run engine and just keep an eye on these things, you will know soon enough after putting on some miles. Look for leaks around frost plugs in case one pushed out a bit.
