question on what set up i shgould run with procharger... thx in advance
ok... i havea fw questions im still learning but im buying a used procharger not sure which model i will find out though.... my questions are...
what h/c/i should i go with? how does it get tuned? (i know its really unpredictable) but what amount of boost would be relatively safe on stock block? can i get my provharger rebuilt or rebuild my self and what does it cost? and any thing else helpful like shit i missed as in injectors shit like tht... i wou;ld appreciate as much help as possible... thx in advance |

what do you have now?
You cannot rebuild it your self, but procharger will do a complete inspection and cleaning and replace inner and outer seals for $350.

i also had the same question. i have an 86 GT with a 90 5.0. so it has the forged pistons. what would be a safe amount of boost to run stock?

THe head unit you will most likely get ( and the one I have ) will be the P600B ( equivelant to the P1SC ). Its capable of up to 18psi ( I believe ) and the stock pully puts down 8psi. Im running TF alum heads, TF stage 2 cam, and ported cobra upper and lower. Its works out great for me, car runs like a dream.
I also assume your getting the intercooled version as well ( which I highly recomend, you lose a couple PSI but gain most the power back with a lower IAT ).

The P1 and the D1 are the same head unit with different impeller. The P600B is the little retarded cousin of the bunch and not equivalent to the P1SC.

Thats not what I have been reading. from the research I did before I purchased it they were about the same. I had a p1sc on my 06 before I traded it in and from then on was sold on prochargers. I talked to a few procharger reps and a handfull of gear heads and they all said the same thing...

ProCharger Supercharger Models
There are major differences, like the P600 is not self contained, and the internal step up ratio is much smaller. Also the scroll is an older design...
