5spd to AOD conversion
Anyone done a 5 speed to Auto conversion
Just scored a used 1000hp Lentech AOD w/ converter for $1,500 whats involved ? tranny tunnel clearance ? Shifter mounting ? Speedo cable ? Back-up light plug ? driveshaft ? Cooler mounting location ?

there shouldn't be any tranny tunnel clearance problems at all since you could get a fob bady with a 5spd or AOD and i'm not to sure about anything else

it will fit right in.the speedo cable are the same but you need a different speedo gear,the shifter will be in the stock location,the cooler where ever you put it,the drive shafts are the same,the backup light plug you can cut and splice that.you will also need a aod ecu(a9p).you can run a aod ecu in a 5speed but not a 5speed ecu in a aod.its not a hard swap to do,just alittle longer to do than a 5speed.

Why would you need an AOD ECU ?
The ECU controls zero functions in regards to the transmission on a Fox body mustang.

you should just sell me that aod and call it good... does it have a trans break and is it a full manual valve body?

Yes I will be selling the 5 speed stuff. Be awhile though.
Its 1000hp Lentech Street Terminator Plus. Full auto or manual shift valve body No transbrake - not a big deal for me

Still trying to figure out TV cable.
What do carb conversion people do for a TV cable when they install a carb throttle cable. (I'm running a carb style TB and cable)
