Getting my car ready for the strip
Im planning on going to my local drag strip with my mustang soon, few things I want to do before I go, and I have a few questions.
The engine is perfectly clean, or was. I noticed the SMALLEST bit of oil leaking on my driverside valve cover. Noticed there is a metal fitting where its leaking from. Found out that its the PCV valve. My question is weather this is a common problem, and if I need a new gasket or the whole fitting or what. Also I took the side cover off of my Edelbrock intake and found a little bit of oil sitting in there. Is that normal/healthy? Second Question. I removed my front swaybar. Still handles great because of all the other suspension mods I have, and it felt like it helped alot. I went to race my buddy and it hooked much better then it ever has, but I also warmed the tires which I never did before. When I launched for the second race it felt like I broke something, but the car drives fine and everything looks good, so Im guessing I experienced some major wheel hop. I have adjustable control arms in the back and im wondering how I should go about tuning them to stop the wheelhop? I also have the right rear Lakewood drag bag and I didnt fill it, so that might be part of the problem too. Also, the car had a blower before. I asked the guy I bought it from if the car had been dyno tuned, and he told me it might still be tuned for the blower. I have to check if it has a aftermarket chip, but if it dosent what would blower tuning consist of? Different plugs and retarded timing? I plan on getting a blower over winter, but for now I want to get the most out of it N/A. Thats all I can think of for now. I'll post the mod list to avoid questions about it. Some things are missing from it. but you know, best things for the track are cut out the floor board by the gas pedal so you can push the pedal down farther and go faster, also if you want 10s put some peanut butter in your cylinder walls for better lubriaction and make sure your blinker fluid and exhaust fluid are topped off lol.
