max hp/tq for a 5.0 and t5

max hp/tq for a 5.0 and t5


like the title says what is the max hp/tq that a stock block can hold. what about the stock t5 transmission. and what h/i/c combo is a good to get to this power range

i was pushing about 550 to the wheels on my stock block and t5.i had all forged internals though

well the stock cast crank will last longer than the stock block. 500 is the most commonly put out number when it comes to rating these blocks in hp terms but some will last a little more and break and some wont last with 400.


And what do you mean to get to this power range? a h/c/i combo is not going to get you anywhere near the blocks limit with stock cubes


btw forged internals do not determine how much power the block is going to hold.

You'll need more than an H/C/I to exceed the limits of the stock block with stock cubes.

This question always pops up and its kind of a grey area. There have been blocks that have split making 450 at the crank, and there guys like notched306 and ryans88gt that make over 500hp to the wheels and have kept it together just fine... so far. Personally, I'll be taking mine up to about 550 at the crank, give or take. It may or may not last.

The big factor here is the tune. A properly tuned engine has a better chance of surviving closer to its limits.
