What oil should I use?

this may seem like a retarted question but I'm changing the oil in my 88 for the first time since i got it. just wondering what type of oil everyone uses to keep it running the best

i think it is more retarded that you misspelled retard. Just playing with you man. I use 5w30, but my car is stock right now. I dont know if i will change oil or not when the mods come in.

maybe thats what i have. i cant remember if its 5 or 10w.

I dont know if there is much difference between brand names. just get a good brand name. dont go with the cheap autozone or walmart brands, and you should be fine.

i believe there was a TSB that said to use 5w-30, but i'm in TX so thicker is better

oh okay, that makes sense. I just checked my case and it is 5w30.

Lax89: you should be good with either of those oils.

5w30 for any motor with less than 100,000 miles and 10w30 for anything over that.
