engine combo

If I were to buy a 347 short block from fordstrokers with canfield 195 heads, custom grind cam, edelbrock victor jr intake, and holley carb what kind of hp could I expect to get? Also what else would I need to get for it that I couldn't just swap off my old engine? I want to get about 500 hp for a daily driver. Or would it be wiser to step up to a 351?

347 isn't a real good daily driver motor anyway is it?

Yeah I was thinking it didn't sound right. So if I got a 408 would I be able to use anything from my engine on it? I know I would have to get the swap kit and swap headers, but what else would I need to get for the block beside hci and carb?

I can't turbo a stock engine can I? I'm going crate because I can't build my without doing the bottem end and when I was adding the parts up a new engine is going to cost about the same as what building mine would cost.

this argument looks kinda familiar

and you can turbo the stock engine with the stock bottom end if its pre 93 (because of piston material)

I am building a 349 inch 8.2 deck, pump gas, OOTB Hi Ports, Super Vic, it will make 485-500 @ 6800ishrpm. This is my personal motor, just junk I have laying around. Time to shut up the naysayers, then its going in my 85 Trunk to drive everyday. Just because 95% of other people fail to make the numbers, doesnt mean its the engines fault. Guys mismatch parts 99.9% of the time, and want to know why its down 75-80hp.

all my friends have had theirs tuned for just around 300$,... other than that,.. the comp or injectors would be the most expensive. That is if you decide to take the junkyard route... two svo turbo's can be aquired for 80$ a piece from pick and pull,... as well as intercoolers and other misc. things..

hellions are pricey but nicey,.. sometimes turbo'd cars can be finicky i suppose,... heating up/boost leaks/oil leaks... but if you do it properly as is any power adder proven harmless...tune tune tune
