heres our parts list i was just posting to see if there is anything i need to know before putting everything back together.
stock block
stock pistons
stock heads(ported like a mother)
slightly bigger cam
steel crank
crane cams lifters
edelbrock carb
performer intake
msd box
blaster 2 coil
3.73 posi
rebuilt non world t-5
fresh hoses & gaskets
i know im forgetting things but have a look!

welcome to the forums. if your digging in that deep I would go ahead and lose the stock block and internals and upgrade if you have to cash.

allready have all of the parts, look at the pics...
but it is going to be a daily driver....so we dont want to get carried away.
and i was told that the cast pistons we have would be able to hold up to a hundred shot, is this correct?

I've seen them run 150 shot then again I have seen motors blow from a 75 shot.
it's all in the combo, nitrous set up, and tune.

it is necessary, but is it crucial?

hmm depends on what kind of tune you want. if an engine is built right you won't need one unless you add some sort of forced induction.
on a carbed car I am not too sure too be honest because of the lack of computer stuff in them.
maybe a stand alone would work.
you will have to wait for the carbed guys to answer that one for you.

i like everything except the edelbrock carb. most people ( at least around here ) don't know how to tune them very well. it may be different around your way but i'd go with a 650 holley . as far as nitrous goes. you'll be fine with a 100 shot as long as you follow the directions and have an adequate fuel supply.

Are these non forged pistons? I've been spraying a 200 on my 88 gt lately. I vary from 150 to 200 and did the same on my last motor and I went 180,000 miles spraying for like 40,000 of them before I fried a ring and sent it through the top of my piston lol. And I think my mistake might have been spraying a 200 on a 190 lph pump not a 255.

if you ask woody he will tell you with machine work and motors today that you really dont need a "break in " period that the rings dont need to seat like they did back in the day....ask him for your application cause it may be different not sure....FordStrokers.com 331-347-393-408-418-427 stroker kits and ford parts. or I am sure somebody else could tell you....dont quote me on this one though it may have been someone else that said that or I may have misunderstood
